PARISIAN WORKSHOP Portrait of Jeanne d'Amys de Ponceau Paris, around 1846 Daguerreotype 1/4 plate cut into an oval, blackened pearwood frame, copper protection and original curved glass. Widow like him, Jeanne d'Amys de Ponceau married the duke of Luynes in 1846, three years after the marriage of their children Julie Valentine de Contades and Honoré-Louis, Duc de Chevreuse, in 1843. This delay was probably necessary to necessary to obtain a dispensation from the Vatican, the unborn grandchildren having only one grandfather and grandmother. After the death of his wife, the Duke of Luynes asked Hippolyte Bayard to reproduce the two daguerreotypes.
