The overturned openwork back decorated with an Athenian woman. It rests on saber feet.
Inscription on the crossbar: Berryer.

Provenance : Pierre-Nicolas Berryer (1757-1841), French lawyer and jurisconsult.
Lawyer at the Parliament in 1780, he was in charge of the defense of Marshal Ney before the Chamber of Peers in 1815.
Father of the royalist lawyer Pierre-Antoine Berryer (1790- 1868), defender of the elder branch of the Bourbons, and of
general Hippolyte-Nicolas Berryer (1795-1857).
