[Bible. N.T. Grec-latin. 1627]. NOVUM TESTAMENTUM graece, cum vulgata interpretatione latina graeci contextus lineis inserta
[Bible. N.T. Greek-Latin. 1627]. NOVUM TESTAMENTUM graece, cum vulgata interpretatione latina graeci contextus lineis inserta Editio postrema emendatior. Cum praefatione eiusdem Ben. Ariae Montani [Geneva], ex typographia J. Stoer, 1627. Fort in-8, [8] f., 1364 p., [1] f., mid-seventeenth century tan basane, spine with three bands bordered by gilt and mute fillets, double gilt fillet bordering the boards, gilt medallion in the centers (defects including dull corners and headpieces, worm spot and reattached split in the spine, scuffed boards; small ink stain on the title). Bilingual edition of the New Testament, where the Latin text is presented line by line under the Greek text, which is an interesting typographical achievement. This version follows the text of the edition of Geneva, Pierre de La Rovière, 1619, which itself took up the text of vol. VII of the Antwerp Polyglot Bible, 1572, edited by Benito Arias Montano. Provenance : A prize copy, offered to a student of the Oratorian College of Beaune (medallion of the college on the boards, and handwritten mention on a guard) ; Denis de Velle de Villette, Burgundy, XVIIth c. (engraved armorial bookplate); Et. Perot, Valençay (fragment of modern bookplate). (Bibles Paris, 3862).
