[Festivity book]. DESCRIPTION of the public celebration given by the city of Paris on the occasion of the marriage of Monseigneur le Dauphin, with Princess Marie-Josèphe de Saxe, February 13, 1747. [Paris, s.n., 1747]. In-folio, contemporary blond calf, smooth and ornate spine, title-piece, gilt roulette bordering the boards, boards with the arms of the city of Paris, gilt edges (defects including uncovered headpieces, worn corners, rubbed edges; one plate browned, some moderate russeting and soiling). Beautiful work entirely engraved on copper, which consists of a title leaf with illustrated frame, engraved after François Blondel, an allegorical frontispiece leaf engraved by Flipart after Slodtz, 12 pages of text in different ornamental frames engraved by Tardieu after Le Lorrain, 5 double plates showing chariots, engraved by Le Mire, Marvye, and Tardieu, and 2 double plates by Benoist and Damun showing the Place Louis-Le-Grand and the fireworks. Azure paper border added to the back of 3 plates. (Cohen, 393).
