[Sixteenth-century book]. DU MOULIN (Charles) [Ed.] Philippus Decius In Tit. ff. De regulis juris cum additionibus [Bound in sequence] : Dyni Muxellani Commentarius in regulas juris pontificii Lugduni, sub scuto coloniensi [at the colophons : excudebant J. et F. Frellonii], 1545. Two works in one volume in-8, contemporary brown calf, spine with 5 nerves and mute, gilt fleurons, double framing of cold fillets on the boards, with gilt angular fleurons and black and gold medallion in the centers, as well as the names of the authors gilt on the upper boards (defects of use, restorations; light wetnesses, small worm tract in the margin of qq. pp., margin replaced at the foot of the title). A fine collection of two editions of ancient law by the jurisconsult Charles Du Moulin (1500-1566). The first is by Filippo Deccio (1454-1535), professor of civil and canon law in Pisa and Siena; the second is the work of Dinus Mugellanus, who also taught law in Pistoia, Bologna, and Rome in the 13th century.
