HENRI IV; LASTEYRIE (Charles-Philibert de), [Ed.] Autograph and unpublished letters of Henry IV, with the portrait of this monarch drawn by F. Gérard, lithographed by Cte de Lasteyrie. S.l., s.n. [Paris, Lasteyrie], 1817. In-folio, contemporary boards (worn boards, extensive spotting). It was in 1815 that the Count of Lasteyrie created in Paris the first French lithography workshop. This work is very probably the very first in France to offer lithographic reproductions of facsimiles of writing. It consists of a portrait and 10 plates of facsimiles reproducing letters of Henri IV which appear here for the first time.
