[Obstetrics]. LE BOURSIER DU COUDRAY (Angélique-Marie). Abrégé de l'art des accouchemens Ouvrage très-utile aux jeunes sages-femmes A Saintes, chez P. Toussaints, 1769. In-8, X-184 p., [3] f., contemporary tan calf, spine ribbed (worn binding, ex. handwritten, wetness especially on the plates but sparing the figures). First illustrated edition, including a portrait of the author, and 26 color plates, all engraved by J. Robert. One of the first works containing engravings printed in colors by the process of trichromy. The plates are not placed here in numerical order. The author, a midwife of the Hôtel-Dieu of Paris, was charged by Louis XV to teach obstetrics in the provinces, and this work forms a sort of practical manual of her specialty. In Paris, chez Méquignon, 1789. 2 volumes in-8, half basane hacane period (worn binding, gap at the head of the spines, very light browning). Second edition illustrated with 17 folding plates engraved on copper. That is to say 3 volumes
