(table, privileges), port, figs, bound in contemporary brown calf, spine with five raised bands, garnet morocco title-pieces, ornamented boards, edges speckled (flaws including three worn corners and headpieces, partly split upper jaw; margins wet but not severe, some soiling, ink stains in margins on pages 22-26).
First edition, illustrated with a copper-engraved title-frontispiece by Sébastien Leclerc after Charles Le Brun, and more than 200 vignettes in the text engraved by F. Chauveau and S. Leclerc, in first edition.
Copy enriched with a copper-engraved portrait of I. de Benserade by Edelinck (small tear on the frame). Upper guard replaced in the 19th c. by a f. offering handwritten poems.
