Introduction à l'histoire de l'univers Avec des notes historiques, géographiques & critiques À Amsterdam, aux dépens de la Compagnie, 1722. 7 volumes in-12, portr., fr., pl., tabl., contemporary tan calf, spine with 5 nerves, ornamented caissons, red edges (snags on headpieces, 2 with worm tracts, corners rubbed; some rare browning, 1 portrait might be lacking, 1 map torn on 2 cm without lack). New edition [published by Bruzen de La Martinière after the translation of C. Rouxel], in which the old chapters have been continued up to the present and the history... of Italy, Germany, etc. has been added. The illustration entirely engraved on copperplate and hors-texte consists of a frontispiece, 14 (out of 15?) portraits of sovereigns, 10 folding maps after Nicolas Sanson, and 2 folding typographed tables. Provenance : Grandchamp (old manuscript bookplate an v° of the titles).
