Attributed to Benito SANCHEZ GALINDO (circa 1530 - after 1588) Scenes from the Life of Christ. Interior panels: Christ in the Garden of Olives, The Crucifixion, Entombment Exterior panels: Virgin and Child and Resurrection Tryptic painted on the five panels. Old restorations. 30 x 51,5 cm We are in the presence of a small portable triptych that allowed travelers to make their devotions during their during their travels. Many of them have been dismantled and the panels dispersed, sold as independent paintings. A contemporary example of similar size to ours is the Triptych of Modena, by El Greco (Modena, Galleria Estense). Benito Sánchez Galindo learned his trade in the workshop of Morales s workshop in Badajoz; he testified in favor of his master in a trial at the age of 19.
