Tile with landscape Siliceous paste with polychrome decoration in cuerda seca. Iran, late 17th - early 18th century, late Safavid Safavid period. Broken and glued. 24 x 24 x 2,2 cm This Persian Safavid style tile is decorated with a central tree in turquoise in a flowery landscape. One will note the presence of the pink color, resulting from the "purple of Cassius", which makes its appearance on the Persian ceramics Persian ceramics only from the end of the seventeenth century. A panel from the same period representing a flautist is kept in the Musée du Louvre (inv. n° MAO 2025). The Museum also holds a panel of a poetic joust covering (inv. n° OA 3340), with a central turquoise tree comparable to this tile.
