[SAINT-MICHEL (Order of) - The binding of the statutes and ordinances of the Order of Saint Michael.] Followed by : Le liure des statuts & ordonances de l'Ordre Sainct Michel, estably par le Treschrestien Roy de France Loys vnziesme de ce nom. S.l.n.d. [circa 1550]. 2 titles in a small volume in-4°, calf, triple framed with gilt and cold fillets on the covers, fleur-de-lis at the corners, arches bordering the fillets and quivers at the inner corners, coat of arms in the center in a frame with accolades, spine decorated with the same lilies, gilt edges, traces of lakes (period binding). 36 ff. (out of 40), the last one blank : A-K4 (the first and the last three leaves in deficit). Three woodcuts and two woodcuts. Binding damaged; first leaf (A1, title) & last three (K2 to K4) deficient; cuts in foot margin of leaf A2; some old handwritten inscriptions on endpapers and first leaf, but a RARE EXAMPLE WITH THE ARMS & MONogram of KING HENRI II, one of the RAREST PRINTED ON HARDWARE.
