[GÉRARD (Alexandre Sébastien) - DRAWINGS.] "Sketches of Italy". A collection of about 80 drawings from the beginning of the XIXth century (1802-1803) in one volume in-4° oblong, half-basane with corners, smooth spine decorated (binding of the time). Booklet gathering 80 graphite drawings of various sizes, some watercolored, mainly of landscapes or monuments or monuments taken in Italy (Albano, Terracine, Gaëte, Villa Adriana, Porto Maurizio, Isola Bella, Isola Madre, Terni, Tivoli, Vesuvius, Genoa, Pisa, Florence, Siena, Viterbo, Spolette, Narni, Bologna, Venice, Padua, Vicenza, Verona, Milan, Suze, etc.), Switzerland (Urseren, Altorf, Geneva) & France (Fontaine de Vaucluse). Alexandre Sébastien Gérard (1779-1853) was an engineer, industrialist and naturalist. He became president of the Saint-Gobain factory in 1850. From the Caillard d'Aillière library, with manuscript bookplate. Minor damage to the binding.
