Chased and gilt bronze clock, Louis XVI period The dial signed Vanier in Paris, decorated with a draped woman symbolizing the Dawn and a love astronomer. It rests on a sheath, a base that once contained a music movement. White marble counter base decorated with openwork galleries. H.66 L.50 D 21 cm. Missing Joseph Vanier received master in Paris in 1777 and settled in rue sainte Anne between 1780 and 1789.
