First English edition of MONTANUS' text (Die nieuwe en onbekende Weereld. Amsterdam, 1671), edited by by OGILBY with numerous additions. An allegorical title-frontispiece, 44 plates on 49 double-pages (views or maps, including THE FIRST VIEW OF NEW YORK), six portraits and 66 figures engraved in the text.
