Rare royal engraved ivory* bilboquet, Louis XIV period The ball decorated with a frieze of flowers in foliage, rosettes and fleur-de-lis. The handle turned with rings, curved support, decorated with foliage. These objects are rare examples of the games that the members of the royal family were fond of. The art of turning ivory was a tradition taught to children in France. The Menus Plaisirs dealt, among other things, with objects that served the sovereign personally.
