Rare missionary pastoral miter, China, second half of the 19th century, folding headdress for transportation with four embroidered panels sewn at the top to a square-section bonnet covered with black satin. Each of the panels embroidered in gold on the bottom and applied quadrilobes embroidered polychrome silk and gold thread of a crane, a cross surmounting a flowering cup of a chalice and a ciborium in a surround of flowers. Fanons enriched with calligraphic cartouches, (some wear and reinforced seams). H. 16 cm and 78 cm including pennants.
