In-24 (h = 70 mm. without binding), 248 p. including title, pl., fr., contemporary fawn basane, spine ribbed and muted, gilt fleurons, gilt roulette on the boards, gilt edges, slipcase (cover missing on the tail box, corners and edges a little rubbed). Rare Spanish minuscule edition of the Rule of St. Benedict. It is illustrated with 2 woodcut plates, one between p.236 and 237, the other in the frontispiece showing the saint studying. Preserved in a satin case decorated with silver thread embroidery and mica pieces, with on one side an engraving under mica in a window, and on the other side a floral motif (qq. decorative pieces and part of the clasp are missing). Provenance: Jeanne-Julia Regnaut, known as Madame Bartet (1854-1941), a Parisian actress whose success continued from the 1870s until 1919 (engraved bookplate).
