Casimir AUCOC, silversmith circa 1850 Rosewood and rosewood veneer writing case, embossed on the top, decorated with fillets. Signed on the lock Aucoc Aîné in Paris. It opens to reveal a mirror, flasks, stove and various utensils in Minerve hallmark guilloché silver and cut crystal, all SW figured and topped with a count's crown. A few missing pieces. H. 19 W. 51 D. 30 cm Aucoc is one of the oldest firms on Rue de la Paix. As early as 1835, Casimir Aucoc Aîné, breveté du Roi, established in rue Saint-Honoré, 154 where he mainly made necessities, moved to rue de la Paix de la Paix at no. 6, adding goldsmithing to his specialty. In his turn, Louis Aucoc aîné succeeded him in 1854, and a little later added jewelry to his production.
