Mahogany chair with openwork back carved with palmettes, stamped Jacob Frères, from the personal furniture of Alphonse Jacob-Desmalter. The openwork back is decorated with palmettes, and it stands on tapered legs with rings. H. 90 L. 46 D. 42 cm Jacob Frères, stamped between 1796 and 1803. The identical counterpart to our chair is illustrated in Denise Ledoux-Lebard's Le mobilier français du XIXe siècle, p. 310.
