A plan drawn in brown ink on laid paper, 18th century, 53 x 81 cm (cut reaching plan and title on 3 sides). In the diocese of Maux, Saint Faron is a Benedictine abbey founded in 628 or 660 by Saint Faron, bishop of Meaux, for monks from the abbey of Luxeuil. Initially dedicated to the Holy Cross and St. John the Baptist, it was later dedicated to its founder. It joined the Saint-Denis congregation in 1607, then the Saint-Maur congregation in 1615.
