[MILLES (Thomas)]. The Catalogue of honor, or Tresury of true nobility peculiar and proper to the isle of Great Britaine... wherunto is properly prefixed a special treatise of that kind of nobility... (errata), figs, antique blond half calf, renewed 5-ribbed tan spine, red title and author labels, cold-stamped arms at center of boards, corners restored, endpapers renewed, title restored (holes on painted image p.527-531; qq. rare browned ff.; without f. A2). First English edition of this work, which opens with a title engraved by Renold Elstrake, and is illustrated with numerous woodcut coats of arms in the text. As in most copies, a passage of text has been cut out and deleted on page 493. An exceptional copy, with many of the figures watercolored, and a remarkable provenance: it is enriched by an autograph dedication from Mary Cholmondeley (née Rolford), Hugh's wife circa 1620, to her son-in-law Sir Richard Grosvenor, ancestor of the Duke of Westminster.
