Signed upper right: Caminade. 34 x 42 cm A student of David, Alexandre Caminade took part in the revival of religious painting under the Restoration and the July Monarchy, decorating numerous Parisian churches. Among the works he exhibited at the Salons from 1812 to 1859, the 1843 work Tête d'enfant, étude (Child's head, study) appears under number 173.
