(title, dedication), 635 p., portr. in contemporary red morocco, 5-ribbed spine, gilt title, small-iron decorated caissons, gilt roulette, fillets and lace edging the covers, double gilt fillet at the edges, interior roulette, gilt edges (one corner worn, gilt tear on the upper cover, minor spotting and soiling in the margins of a few pages). Edition dedicated to Jean Etienne Bernard de Clugny (Avallon, 1664 - Dijon, 1741), Comptroller General of Finances, Honorary Advisor to the Parliament of Burgundy, with his portrait engraved on copper by Petit after F.A. Kraus, and a wood-engraved band bearing his arms at the head of the dedication. A precious copy by the dedicatee, with his engraved armorial bookplate, and luxuriously bound.
