(table, approb.), figs, plates, contemporary brown calf, 5-nerved spine, red morocco title-piece, ornate caissons, gilt roulette at the edges, red edges (slight rubbing, 1 corner worn, very moderate browning, pen marks on one endpaper). "Ninth edition augmented with new pastes & liqueurs, & new stews served today". It is illustrated with 18 woodcut figures in the text showing the cutting of meats, and at the end with 4 copper-engraved fold-out plates showing table plans. Provenance: Cauvin (old ms. bookplate on one endpaper).
