Bronze and white marble clock from the Louis XVI period Decorated with a love presenting a medallion by Gault de Saint-Germain, decorated with the profiles of the two sons of Bonnefoy du Plan. On the back of the profiles is engraved : Antoine François Laurent Bonnefoy de Barsy born on April 17, 1775 and Louis Antoine Bonnefoy du Charmel born on April 9, 1774. Signed on the dial Robin. It rests on an oval base with scrapers, friezes of pearls and trophy. H. 41 L. 33 P. 17 cm Misses Pierre Marie Gault de Saint-Germain (1754-1842). Robert Robin (1741-1799), merchant watchmaker to the King in 1763. In the inventory after death of Pierre Charles Bonnefoy du Plan in 1824, we find: "a clock, movement of Robin, the body and the base in white marble, subject representing the love showing the two children of the testator to their mother and painted in cameo by Degaux (sic, for de Gault), the ornaments and the love in matt gold; base and glass jar, bequeathed the whole to Mr. Bonnefoy the elder by the testator... taken 400 francs."
