In-4, plum morocco, spine with 4 raised bands, author and illustrator's names gilt, mosaic green and fawn listel decoration finished in palmettes, title stamped in black on the upper board, the 2 boards decorated with similar mosaic compositions on the spine and enriched with red pieces, lavaliere morocco lining decorated with mosaic blue listels and a mosaic floral garland in green and mauve, the whole underlined with gilt fillets, double embroidered satin and marbled paper endpapers, gilt edges on witnesses, folder and case [Marius Michel] (spine of the folder rubbed, case worn ; without the medal ; stains in the margin of 5 f., one leaf restored).
Edition illustrated with woodcut compositions by George Barbier, in colors by F. L. Schmied.
Limited edition of 133 copies on a single watermarked vellum paper: this one numbered 42.
Enriched with an original watercolor by George Barbier, signed and dated 1923.
