Large chased and gilt bronze lantern in the Louis XVI style, signed Lacarrière Delatour et Cie, circa 1880 . Four lights, decorated with plumes and balusters. H. 117 cm Lacarrière creates in 1825 a factory at 3 bis, rue Sainte-Elisabeth. A simple craftsman, he specialized and excelled in the use of bronze in lighting fixtures. From 1851 to 1870, he changed his name several times. Lacarrière, Delatour et Cie (active in 1870) melted and chiselled most of the street lamps, candelabras and chandeliers of the Paris Opera. During the Universal Exhibition of 1878, the catalogue wishes to recall that "their exhibition bears witness to great skill and very pure taste in lighting bronzes intended for private homes".
