Shepherdess in mahogany and mahogany veneer of Marshal Duroc, at the palace of Saint-Cloud, attributed to Jacob Frères, Consulate period around 1802 The upside down backrest with scrolls, armrests supported by busts of winged women, feet front baluster with foliage, rear sabre feet. Restorations. Bears a handwritten label Duroc à/ St-Cloud, the iron mark CHATEAU/DE ST-CLOUD (twice), stencil numbers N 7452, 23467, TU 15920. H. 96 L. 54 P. 60 cm Shepherdess delivered around 1802 for the refurbishment of the Château de Saint-Cloud during the consular period. She is described in the salon of Marshal Duroc in the 1805 inventory of the castle " General inventory of furniture of the palace of Saint-Cloud, 14 prairial year 13 Grand Marshal's apartment Salon Two sofas with their tiles and pillows, two shepherdesses, eight armchairs, twelve chairs, in mahogany, grid backrests, blue damask cutlery " (AN, O2 730, p. 44). It returned from Saint-Cloud on 17 August 1819 with the rest of the ensemble, to be sent almost immediately to the château in Saint-Germain-en-Laye ; the diary of the Garde-Meuble completes the previous description " 7451 two sofas in mahogany, feet with claws and pilaster, Egyptian heads, crooked backrests, horsehair checks, feather pillows, cutlery in blue damask, small bouquets and rhombuses design, crest in dawn and white silk, tassels on pillows, length 2,10 m ; 7452 two shepherdesses wood and fabric idem Exit 1819, 27 August Saint-Germain, Gouverneur " (AN, AJ19 610). It returned to the Garde-Meuble on 6 May 1830 (AN, AJ19 622, n° 23467), and was then included in the inventory of the Tuileries Palace in 1834, located in the bedroom of a certain M.
