Large traveller's coupé known as the Princess of Lamballe's, circa 1810. Four C-springs. Bound train (one arrow). Old upholstery to be restored. Front wheels D. 35 cm Rear wheels D. 133 cm L.389 W.185 H.217 cm Misses and accidents. Participated in the Universal Exhibition of 1900 in Paris. It belonged at that time to Lady Foster. Provenance : castle of la Bourbansais, Brittany. According to an unfounded family tradition, this car was lent by the Princess of Lamballe, a friend of Queen Marie-Antoinette, to her confessor, the Abbé de la Coninais, so that the latter could flee Paris. He abandoned the carriage near Dinan before returning to England where he died three years later.
