A Transitional ormolu clock circa 1770 Decorated with Demeter and Persephone surrounding a column and surmounted by a dial signed Charles Dutertre in Paris, flanked by two medallions in the Boizot style. Movement signed in the same in the same manner. It rests on a base finished by ball feet. Misses. H. 75 L. 54 D. 27 cm Charles Dutertre received master in 1758. A very similar clock also signed by Charles Dutertre is kept in the Pavlovsk castle, see Pavlovsk, les collections, ed. de Gourcuff, 1993, p. 178 and 179, reproduced on p. 183 fig. 1. An identical clock in the collection of the Duchess of Mazarin in the 18th century.
