Pair of chairs by Jacob D rue Meslee from the Empire period from the castle of Compiègne In molded and carved wood, with a square back, they rest on front legs with rings. Marked CP crowned in a circle and in ink CP 11090. H. 90 L. 45 P. 40 cm Inventoried under the N° CP11090 in the castle of Compiègne, this pair of chairs belongs to a series of four which was in 1855 in the bedroom of the apartment n°4, located in the mezzanine of an annex building of the castle, then building of the castle, then occupied by the services of the architect of the palace. At the time of the inventory, this apartment was occupied by a "clerk by a "clerk". These chairs accompanied a shepherdess. The whole was made of painted wood and "covered in yellow striped velvet, braid and nails gilded". The inventory states that the four chairs left the estate on July 25, 1881.
