PRISSE D'AVENNES (Émile). L'art arabe d'après les monuments du Kaire depuis le VIIe siècle jusqu'à la fin du XVIIIe. Paris, Ve A. Morel et Cie, 1873-1876.
PRISSE D'AVENNES (Emile). Arab art according to the monuments of Kairo from the 7th century to the end of the 18th century. Paris, Ve A. Morel et Cie, 1873-1876. In-plane, in sheets under delivery covers (qq. negligible defects, detail available). Complete atlas (without the in-4° text volume) of this remarkable work, the most sumptuous and best documented of the publications on Arab art issued in the 19th century. It consists of 200 plates, - 130 of which are chromolithographed, and 48 lithographed in two tones - showing all the variety of works represented in Cairo: architecture, decoration, carpets, weapons, silverware, etc. This "second edition" is identical to the first one published almost simultaneously, except that the plates are printed on a smaller paper ("half-color paper", whereas the first one, which is extremely rare, was in "large grape" format). This copy "as issued" includes in addition to the plates, the title pages and the table sheets intended to bind the whole in three volumes.
