Two fragmentary Ottoman tiles Ceramics with polychrome decoration painted under transparent colorless glaze. Levant, Damascus, 17th-18th century and probably Tunisia, 19th century. Broken and reattached, missing. 22 x 21.5 x 1.8 cm and 21.5 x 21 x 1.8 cm The first Damascus tile is decorated with floral motifs inscribed in interlaced mandorles, in green, cobalt, eggplant and black. A tile with a similar decoration is kept in the Louvre Museum (Inv. no. OA 4047/5). The second tile, probably Tunisian, has a decoration in turquoise, cobalt, red, yellow, eggplant and black, on a white and turquoise background, of floral motifs and clouds. It has on the back an old label with the number 61.
