The volume begins with a table (f. 1 r°), followed by a preface by the translator Petro Candido Decembrio (1399-1477) [f. 1 v°], dedicated to Alfonso (II) of Aragon (1449-1496), future king of Naples (in 1494), and to his father, Ferdinand (I) of Aragon (1424-1494), king of Naples since 1458.
