Square cashmere shawl, circa 1840, radiant decoration, in the style of Amédée Couder, of a flowered rosette on a black background sown with flowers of the Indies; broad borders bristling with flowered bulbs with four bouquets abounding in spandrels. Weaving silk and cashmere to the lance cut in a lively polychrome, (two holes burned on a corner and a few small snags on the edge), 177 x 177 cm approximately. Preserved in a shawl box.
