(table, privileges), figs, pl., contemporary brown calf, spine with 5 nerves, title and gilt fleurons, spine renewed in imitation (defects including split jaws, worms' smudge on the lower cover; cut on 1 cm at the head of the title, clear wetness in the margins of qq. ff.; tears without missing repaired to the folding plates).
Rare practical treatise for the use of communities and priests, also intended to satisfy the curiosity of the laity. Posthumous work of the abbé de La Croix (c.1598-1661), priest of the seminary of Saint-Nicolas du Chardonnet, published here for the first time by several of his confreres, according to the tables he had written. The edition is illustrated with 2 full-page copper-engraved figures, and 2 large woodcut folding plates showing the organization of the altar.
