[LECLERC DU TREMBLAY (François). Collection of some political speeches, written on various occurrences of foreign affairs and wars since 15 years in that. TO S. Gervais, by S. Waudreman, 1633. In-4, 4-484 p., contemporary blond calf, spine with 5 nerves, garnet title-piece, caissons decorated with small irons, gilt roulette on the edges, red edges (worm stain in the margin of the first 10 f., then trav. in the foot margins from p.245 to the end).
Collective edition of 11 pieces concerning European affairs, the second edition after the original published in 1632. Cioranescu attributes part of the work to F. Leclerc du Tremblay (1577-1638), who preceded Mazarin as advisor to Cardinal de Richelieu. The BnF does not follow this option. In any case, the work is an interesting reflection of the political state of the time.
