Bibliothèque historique de la France, containing the catalog of works, printed & manuscripts, which deal with the history of this kingdom or which are related to it. With critical and historical notes by the late Jacques Lelong... In Paris, of the Impr. of J.-T. Herissant, 1768-1778. 5 volumes in-folio, of which 4 (t.1, 2, 3 and 5) bound in a homogeneous way in full spotted tan calf of the time, spine with 6 nerves, brown title and tomaison parts, decorated caissons, triple gilded net bordering the dishes, gilded royal weapons in the centers, red edges, the t.4 in contemporary basane without ornaments or arms on the boards (defects including dull corners and uncovered headpieces, rubbing and spotting on the boards; snagging and staining on page 1 of t.4). Second and last edition of this bibliographical monument, extensively revised and enlarged by C.-M. Fevret de Fontette, J.-L. Barbeau de La Bruyère and L.-E. Rondet. It rendered obsolete the original published in 1719 in a single volume. Provenance: Menonville (bookplate ms. period); Jesuits of Saint-Acheul (19th century stamp) then of Enghien (modern stamp).
