Theory of pleasant feelings where, after having indicated the rules that nature follows in the distribution of pleasure, the principles of natural theology and those of moral philosophy are established. In Paris, by Debure père, 1774. In-12, XXXII-352 p., [2] f., pl., period spotted tan calf, smooth spine decorated, garnet colored title, marbled edges. The most complete edition of this work by L.-J. Levesque de Pouilly (1691-1750) who lived in Reims where he taught philosophy. The copper-engraved illustration consists of a frontispiece, a title vignette, three other vignettes at the head of the dedication to the king, the warning and the text, all by J. Robert after De Seve, and 2 folding plates illustrating the discovery in Reims of an ancient mausoleum decorated with paintings.
