Unique first edition of this work by the lawyer Antoine Loisel, born in Beauvais in 1536. A student of Cujas, the author is best known for his "Institutes coutumières", one of the first and most important collections of ancient French law, which has been reprinted many times. These memoirs of Beauvais and the Beauvaisis region are distinguished in particular by the numerous supporting documents that are transcribed in the last 130 pages, including charters dating back to 1106. This copy bears on the title the old handwritten mention: "Ex dono Auctoris, utebatur Johannes filesar (?) D.T.".
