[Manuscrit]. [Musique].
Manuscript, 17th c. In-12 oblong, 83 numbered leaves, [1] f. n.c., contemporary brown calf, spine with 4 nerves, modern slipcase of red half-chagrin with corners (binding very worn, spine uncovered, upper board and a few ff. detached; stains on the first few ff. not interfering with reading, sporadic spotting and fingerprints). Interesting manuscript copy of the time, of this pastoral from Quinault's arrangement of the entertainments of the "Bourgeois gentilhomme", the "Amants magnifiques", "George Dandin", the "Pastorale comique" and the "Fête de Versailles", by Molière. The music is by Jean-Baptiste Lully; the work was first published and performed in 1672. The last two leaves of this manuscript, after the mention "Fin du troisième et du dernier acte des festes de l'amour et de Bacchus", offer the score of a "Trio del seignor Carissimi". The writing, in ink on the r° and v°, is not applied but very legible, as well for the score as for the text. The volume begins with the opening and without title page. There are several corrections and erasures throughout the pages. A set of recent typed notes (7 p. in-4°) is attached, in which the variants of this manuscript compared with the printed edition are mentioned.
