PÉTRONE. Satyricon, cum fragmentis, Albae Graecae recuperatis anno 1688. Parisiis, apud J. B. Langlois, 1693.
PETRONIUS. Satyricon, cum fragmentis, Albae Graecae recuperatis anno 1688. Parisiis, apud J. B. Langlois, 1693. In-12, [12] f., 288 p., period tan basane, 5-ribbed spine, tan calf title-piece, ornamented caissons, speckled tr. (defects including worm tracts at head and tail of spine). New edition, the first one at the Paris address, of this literary deception, work of the French soldier François Nodot (1650-1710), who declared to hold this new version of the Satyricon from a hitherto unknown manuscript. He published the first edition in 1691, at the address of Cologne, probably fictitious, then a translation which gained a beautiful success, in spite of the discovery of the deception.
