[sign. a-i 8], full 18th century marbled fawn calf, smooth ornamented spine, brown morocco title-piece, triple gilt fillet to the boards, marbled edges (rubbing, uncovered headpieces and corners, title soiled and reassembled, light spotting, fine worm nicks in the margins). Uncommon Lyon edition, absent from the BnF and CCFr catalogs, of this famous ancient description of the world, here accompanied by the notes of the Spanish humanist Pedro Juan Oliver, who died around 1533. Old note washed out in the margin of page 4. Provenance: Petitaut (?; manuscript bookplate on title). (USTC 126547, 10 copies located).
