MONTAIGLON (Anatole de). Set of 4 works from his library, including 2 museum catalogs interleaved and extensively annotated by his hand.
1. Royal Museum of Painting and Sculpture of Belgium. Catalog... Brussels, Stiennon, 1846. In-16, bound in an interleaved in-8 volume, black half-chagrin with corners, spine with 4 nerves, gilt numeral, title, date [Lebrun] (snags at the edges, spine slightly rubbed).
2. NOTICE of the paintings in the Museum of the city of Ghent. Ghent, Vanderhaegen-Hulin, 1846. [Following]: Catalogue of works of sculpture, architecture, exhibited in the Museum of the Academy. Bruges, Impr. Moor and Neveu, 1845. In-16. Two works in one vol. in-8, interleaved, brown half-chagrin, smooth spine, gilt title and number (spine faded).
Provenance for both : The author (engraved number and bookplate) ; then the Norman scholar Étienne Deville (engraved bookplate, signature and autograph mentions).
3. MONTAIGLON (A. de). The death song of the oak. Souvenir des côtes de Vendée. Paris, Dec. 1865. In-8, 18 p., dark blue chagrin, spine with 5 nerves, gilt title and date, gilt numeral in the center of each cover, gilt fillet on the edges, inner lace, gilt edges (slight rubbing, spine faded). Printed on China paper, bound with all its margins. Figure and bookplate of the author.
4. MONTAIGLON (A. de). The hawthorn and the chestnut tree of Sannois. Studies from nature. Paris, March 1865. In-8, 24 p., black binding similar to the previous one (slight rubbing, one corner dull). Printed on China paper, bound with all its margins. Figure of the author. Enriched with an autograph letter signed by C. de La Tremblaye.
