Restoration-period lady's desk in bird's-eye maple and amaranth stamped Iacob Top with shutters, belt highlighted by small consoles (one missing), hocked legs and claw feet and claw feet concealing casters. Slightly insolated in places, small chips and wear. H. 71 W. 88.5 (131.5) D. 52.5 cm Iacob, stamped by Jacob-Desmalter and used between 1813 and 1825. We know of a very similar dressing table, stamped by the same maker, and probably in suite with our desk (see Phidias sale, June 7, 2023, lot 289).
