Directoire-period mahogany armchair stamped Jacob Frères Rue Meslée. Inverted back, ringed and gadrooned legs. Delivery label Mr Henocq. H. 90 W. 60 D. 50 cm Jacob Frères, stamp used between 1796 and 1803. This armchair is in suite with the bergère sold by Daguerre on November 8, 2022, lot 192. Charles Nicolas Hénocq (1768-1851), secretary to Empress Josephine until her death in 1814. He was probably lived at Malmaison.
