[Bound in the coat of arms.] [Bible. French. 1711]. SAINTE BIBLE (LA), contenant l'Ancien et le Nouveau Testament, traduite en françaois sur la Vulgate par Monsieur Le Maistre de Saci... A Paris, chez G. Desprez & J.B. Desessartz, 1711. 8 volumes in-18 (h = 138 mm. hors rel.), contemporary lavallière maroquin, spines with 5 ornate nerves, title-pieces in red and fawn maroquin, compartments decorated with small irons, gilded lace and fillet edging the boards, gilded coat of arms in the center, gilded roulettes at the necks and chasses, edges gilded over marbling, headpieces restored (a few dull corners, discreet worm spots at the tail of one spine).
A fine copy, elegantly ruled and bound, bearing the arms of Paul de Beauvilliers, Duc de Saint-Aignan (1648-1714), Governor of the Duc de Bourgogne, then Governor of the Duc d'Anjou and Duc de Berry, and finally Minister of State (OHR 696 fer 3).
