Sebastiano CONCA (Gaëte, 1676 - Naples, 1764) Saint Cecilia Copper. 14 x 10.5 cm Sebastiano Conca depicted Saint Cecilia on several occasions during his career, in various formats, mostly on canvas, and varying the composition each time. Here, we note his ease in transposing this theme onto a copper support. A pupil of Francesco Solimena, he adopted Carlo Marrata's fluid brushwork and color contrasts, contributing to the definition of the Roman Rococo style.
