Nicolas Benjamin DELAPIERRE (Lyon, 1734-1802) Portrait of a man with a muff Original canvas. Signed and dated 1783 lower right. Inscribed 1783 on the reverse of the canvas and 1783 on the stretcher. 48.4 x 39.5 cm Louis XVI period gilded wood frame with ribbon bows. Delapierre did not return from Russia until 1786, so this portrait was painted at the Imperial Russian Court, before his return to Lyon.
